We can provide our patients with routine vaccines, other injections and some travel vaccines and advice.
Routine Vaccines
Vaccines are an important part of preventative care. We offer all OHIP covered vaccines in clinic.
We will administer the vaccine during a routine appointment (like a well baby or preventative health exam) or you can book specifically with our nurses by going in the portal below and selecting nursing injections.

Childhood Vaccines
All childhood vaccines are covered by OHIP. We administer them on site. For more information visit Ontario Health.
Seasonal Vaccines
Currently we are currently administering influenza vaccine.
We are in the process of obtaining COVID vaccine from MOH, but expect to have some soon.
Vaccines in Pregnancy
Seasonal Flu, Covid and Tdap are recommended
Vaccines for Over 65
We offer OHIP covered Pneumovax (pneumonia) to patients over 65 and Shingrix (shingles) to patients 65 to 71.
Note: Pneumovax (pneumonia), Prevnar (pneumonia), and Shingrix (shingles) can be administered to patients over 50, but it is not covered by OHIP.
Other Routine Vaccines
Tetanus (Td) should be given every 10 years

Other injections
We administer a number of other injections. This can be booked specifically with a nurse.
Prolia
This injection is done every 6 months. If you have osteoporosis your physician will discuss treatment options. The medication is only available by physician prescription only. It is covered by OHIP.
Mantoux test
This is a test that helps see if a person is infected by Tuberculosis. You will need to book an injection to administer the test, but you need to see your physician again in 48 hours to read it – so don’t book on Friday!
This test is not covered by OHIP if it is for school or employment purposes. Uninsured fees will apply.
Allergy Injections
We will continue you on immunotherapy. Please note that all allergy shots for patients of Drs ApSimon, Duong, Ngan, Swedani, and Waters will be moved to Your Health Votre Santé effective 1 November 2023. All injections will be done at our new site.
These injections are covered by OHIP.
B12 Injections
Sometimes you may be recommended by your physician to take a B12 injection if you are not absorbing oral B12 properly.
Please note that all B12 shots for patients of Drs ApSimon, Duong, Ngan, Swedani, and Waters will be moved to Your Health Votre Santé effective 1 November 2023. All injections will be done at our new site.
Depo injections
If you require a Depo injection (antipsychotic injection), we can do these as well. You family doctor will give you directions on how often you need them.
Travel Vaccines
Travelling internationally can have medical risks. We advise that you consult a physician if you are travelling outside the country.
We do not do Yellow fever vaccination
Some of our physicians will do travel consults for certain countries.
All travel advice and vaccine administration is not covered by OHIP. Please see our page on uninsured rates. We charge separately for the travel consult and the injection of the vaccine.
Example: Travel consult: $95.85 + 1 injection: $12.90 = $108.75
We will not accept prescription requests for travel vaccines where the travel consult was done at a pharmacy.

Do you prescribe Malaria Prophylaxis?
Yes, but with a travel consult. This is an uninsured service and will be charged privately.
Where do I get the vaccines?
After a travel consult, you will be provided with a prescription of the recommended vaccines. You can go to any pharmacy to fill these. The pharmacist can administer them, or you can bring them back to our nurses to do so.
Do I need Dukoral?
Dukoral is not recommended for traveller’s diarrhea according to the Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel (CATMAT).
